The town also offers a range of specialist craft shops with goods supplied by local crofters and unique museums and cosy tearooms.

Day 4

Torshavn

Off-the-beaten-track islands, unique wildlife, and some of the world’s best photography opportunities; the rugged and wild scenery is some of the most stunning you will see. But a day exploring the country’s small and quirky capital, Tórshavn, is well worth your time. Tórshavn is located on the southeast coast of the island of Streymoy, and is home to around 20,000 inhabitants.

Grundarfjörður boasts a public library, a historical centre, a resident’s café and a photography exhibition, Bæringsstofa, which is a collection of pictures by the late Icelandic photographer and honorary citizen of Grundarfjörður, Bærings Cecilsson.

Day 7-8
11 Aug 2022
Reykjavik (Overnight on Board)

Reykjavik, on the coast of Iceland, is the country's capital and largest city. It's home to the National and Saga museums, tracing Iceland’s Viking history. The striking concrete Hallgrimskirkja church and rotating Perlan glass dome offer sweeping views of the sea and nearby hills. Exemplifying the island’s volcanic activity is the geothermal Blue Lagoon spa, near the village of Grindavik.

Day 9
13 Aug 2022
Isafjorour

Ísafjörður is a town in the Westfjords region of northwest Iceland. It's known for its dramatic landscapes. The old town has wooden houses with corrugated tin roofs built by fishing merchants in the 18th and 19th centuries. The Westfjords Heritage Museum has exhibits on the town’s maritime history, including a collection of old fishing boats. The old hospital, now a cultural center, contains archives and photography.

Day 10
14 Aug 2022
Akureyri

Akureyri is set in stunning scenery filled with charm and a thriving artists community. Set on some of Iceland’s most beautiful fjords and scattered with quaint churches and magnificent waterfall, Akureyri is a place not easily forgotten. The old town is filled with history where you will see the first school, hospital and theatre, the first two storey buildings built in Iceland. For more spectacular beauty visit the natural spa near Lake Myvatn.

Honningsvåg with its 2,800 inhabitants is the capital of the North Cape. Walking through Honningsvåg you’ll find excellent shops, Arctic dining experiences and other exciting activities. Check out the Perleporten Kulturhus (the local cultural centre), the Once Upon A Dream art gallery, and the Artico Ice Bar. A visit to the church is highly recommended: it was the only building left standing in Honningsvåg at the end of World War II.

Day 14
18 Aug 2022
Scenic Cruising North Cape

Relax by the pool or enjoy one of the many shipboard activities, the food is fabulous not to mention the cocktails, or simply enjoy the scenery.

Day 14

Alta, Norway

Alta is a lovely small town in Finnmark county of just over 20,000 inhabitants, located well above the Arctic Circle at 70 degrees north latitude. In fact, Alta is the second northernmost city in the world with more than 10,000 inhabitants.

Day 15
19 Aug 2022
Tromso

At Tromso, you’re nearly 250 miles inside the Arctic Circle. Clues to your location are everywhere; the bars are fully stocked with Arctic Beer and the Arctic Cathedral resembles a geometric glacier. Tromso features the Polaria Arctic Centre, where the exhibits recreate a polar bear den and an Arctic snowstorm. You might experience them for real from the cable cars that climb Mount Storsteinen.

Day 16
20 Aug 2022
Lofoten Islands

The Lofoten Islands are draped across the turbulent waters of the Norwegian Sea, far above the Arctic Circle. This rare wilderness outpost offers an untrammelled landscape of majestic mountains, deep fjords, squawking seabird colonies and long, surf-swept beaches. At Sea

You’ll always find a place to bask in the sun on board or find the outdoor whirlpools, swimming pools and ample sun loungers, or simply relax with a book or a cocktail and enjoy the peace or the company of newfound friends.

Day 18
22 Aug 2022
Kristiansund

Not to be confused with Kristiansand in Southern Norway, the difference is one letter, spelled with an a instead of u. Kristiansund is a city and municipality on the mid-western coast of Norway, in Møre og Romsdal county. It has among the most special and interesting architecture of Norway, which originates from the aftermath of World War II, when nearly 80% of the city was demolished by bombs.

Day 19
23 Aug 2022
Alesund

You have Kaiser Wilhelm II to thank for this city’s wonder. He rebuilt his beloved gateway in Art Nouveau style after it was destroyed by fire in 1904. Lose your heart to this gem of the Nordic coast. Today, its buildings feature dreamy turrets and ornate carvings of dragons and mythical figures. Nature has played its part too, as calm waters and distant snow-capped peaks add to the charm.
