Grand Princess was the first of the ''Grand''-class ships, and has a different decor scheme to her sister ships, using darker woods, and the interior decor is more similar to the smaller Sun-class ships. She is the sister ship of Star Princess and Golden Princess. Grand Princess was the setting for a task in the second series of the UK version of the reality TV show The Apprentice.

Grand Princess has a large theatre, a large central performance lounge and an aft show lounge.

In May 2011, Grand Princess completed the most extensive dry dock in Princess Cruises history that included a refit and removal of the passengers lounge from her stern. This resolved her tendency to sail bow high, and has improved her fuel economy by about 3-4%. The bow high tendency was peculiar to Grand Princess, and does not affect any of the other Grand class ships (or the derivative classes) as unlike Grand Princess they have aluminium upper decks.

Princess Cruises Covid-19 safety measures

Before Cruising
Those who have flu-like symptoms, or have been in contact with someone who has or is suspected to have COVID-19 will not be allowed to board. When preparing for boarding, all guests will have to go undergo health screening, including temperature checks. At embarkation terminals, frequently touched points will be continuously sanitised, and there will be sanitising- and fogging if possible- after each embarkation and debarkation.
Cleaning
The cruise line's already rigorous cleaning will be further enhanced with frequent cleaning of surfaces that are often touched such as chairs and fitness equipment. There will also be hand sanitiser throughout the ship, and in crew areas, to make hand washing easier.
Medical
With medical crew onboard who will be trained specially to deal with COVID-19, anyone who develops symptoms during their cruise will receive free screening and treatment.
Onboard
Princess Cruises understand the impotance of social distancing, which is why there will be reduced capacity throughout their ships at venues and events. What's more, their innovative OceanMedallion technology will provide guests with a contactless experience onboard, from guests services to paying for items.
Crew
Crew safety is monitored throughout their cruise thanks to pre-embarkation testing and daily health checks.

Hilo

Hilo is a town on Hawaii, commonly called the Big Island, in the state of Hawaii. It’s known for Wailuku River State Park, featuring Waianuenue, or Rainbow Falls, with its colorful mist effects. The bubbling basalt-lava rock pools known as the Boiling Pots are nearby. To the south is Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, home to rain forests and the active Kilauea and Mauna Loa volcanoes.

Honolulu

If Oahu is the heart of Hawaii, then Honolulu is its racing pulse. In this cosmopolitan capital city, you’ll find everything from historic landmarks to fine dining to world class shopping. Honolulu stretches across the south eastern shores of the island from the world-famous Pearl Harbour to Makapuu Point encompassing the world famous Waikika beach

Kauai

Kauai is an island in the Central Pacific, part of the Hawaiian archipelago. It's nicknamed "the Garden Isle" thanks to the tropical rain forest covering much of its surface. The dramatic cliffs and pinnacles of its Na Pali Coast have served as a backdrop for major Hollywood films, while 10-mile-long Waimea Canyon and the Nounou Trails traversing the Sleeping Giant mountain ridge are hiking destinations.

Las Vegas

Las Vegas, officially the City of Las Vegas and often known simply as Vegas, is the 28th-most populated city in the United States, the most populated city in the state of Nevada, and the county seat of Clark County.

Los Angeles

Los Angeles is a sprawling Southern California city and the center of the nation’s film and television industry. Near its iconic Hollywood sign, studios such as Paramount Pictures, Universal and Warner Brothers offer behind-the-scenes tours. On Hollywood Boulevard, TCL Chinese Theatre displays celebrities’ hand- and footprints, the Walk of Fame honors thousands of luminaries and vendors sell maps to stars’ homes.

Maui

Maui is an island in the Central Pacific, part of the Hawaiian archipelago. Sprawling Haleakala National Park encompasses the island’s highest peak, volcanic Haleakala, as well as the pools and waterfalls of Ohe’o Gulch, accessed via scenic, winding Hana Highway. The island's 30 miles of beaches include golden-crescent Kapalua, sheltered from strong currents by lava-rock promontories.
