You will find the delicate notes of Sanshin accompanying the distinctive songs of the island, it is a wonderful accompaniment to the wide range of experiences available on this island rich in nature’s gifts.

Day 9
16 Apr 2023
Naha

Naha is the capital of Okinawa Prefecture, the tropical island group south of mainland Japan. It's known for Shuri Castle, the restored royal palace of the Ryukyu Kingdom, which flourished from the 1400s–1800s and invented the martial art karate. Tokyo

From high-end sushi to quick-slurped noodles, Tokyo lives up to its rep as a culinary powerhouse. In areas like Shibuya and Shinjuku, the city delivers the crowds and neon travelers envision. Elsewhere it balances the brash with tranquil gardens and old ways. With its jurisdiction stretching from western mountains to remote southern islands, the capital goes way beyond the expected.

25 Apr 2023
Kanazawa

Kanazawa is one of the overlooked jewels of Japanese tourism — although not by the Japanese, who visit in droves. Its relatively remote location, off the beaten (shinkansen) track, has perhaps unfairly contributed to a lower number of foreign tourists.
