La Palma

La Palma offers some spectacular walking trails with rugged, volcanic landscapes often shrouded in clouds, with dense green valleys below. Small towns and villages dot the landscape with bananas growing in nearby fields. If La Palma were a color, it would be green, in all its shades. It’s the green of the Canary Island pine trees, and the green of the distinctive laurisilva species that have taken refuge on the ‘Isla Bonita’. Forests that cover the sides of steep ravines that we can venture into following a complete network of trails.

Things to do in La Palma

National Park

National Park

If you love hiking or you simply love nature, the Caldera de Taburiente National Park is a must visit. With high peaks, a volcanic crater and several waterfalls, this picturesque area gives you views that are simply out of this world.

Volcano

Volcano

Another place on the island that boasts incredible views is the San Antonio volcano. With a visitor centre and lots of hiking trails, you can take in views of the crater and its surroundings.

Lighthouse

Lighthouse

An active lighthouse situated on the southern end of the island, it was built in 1985. However, the current lighthouse replaced the original lighthouse that stood in its place, which dated back to 1903. A prominent attraction, it offers plenty of photo opportunities.
